VFX Artist and Motion Designer for a Sci-fi short: 'Charon: The Space Oddity'

Posted by Ibrahim Eren Kilisli Berlin, Germany

Description

Short psychological sci-fi, 13–15 min. We're building the whole ship ourselves a fully practical handmade set and we're planning the exteriors as miniatures. The story is a homage to David Bowie's "Space Oddity," with suspense and horror elements running through it. A lone cargo pilot finds an oxygen leak on his ship. The only voice he has is Ground Control, back on Earth. Contact: Director/Writer - Eren Kilisli - ierenkilisli@gmail.com

Roles (2)

VFX Artist or Supervisor

I'm looking for someone to come in early -during design and set build- so we solve things in-camera wherever possible and keep post minimal. Roughly 2–3 remote calls in prep, one day on set, and a defined post scope. Status: self-financed short, no production company. I'm not going to promise a fee I can't guarantee. What I can offer regardless: full creative credit, festival credits, high-quality frames and making-of material for your reel, and a project where the VFX is genuinely designed rather than patched on. Contact: Eren Kilisli - ierenkilisli@gmail.com If you're interested, feel free to send me your showreel or examples of your previous work. I'd be glad to hear from you and look forward to getting in touch.

Motion graphics designer

For the job is not need too much motion design knowledge needed. Two things: The star field seen through the ship's window, which comes back later on a TV. And a scan effect where the image builds up on a monitor layer by layer. Our status: self-financed short, no production company and currently no budget for this position. I'm not going to promise a fee I can't guarantee. If you're interested, I'm open to talking about what would make it worth your time. What I can offer: full creative credit, festival credits, and high-quality frames plus making-of material for your reel. Contact: Eren Kilisli, ierenkilisli@gmail.com
