Andre Gomes
Writing under the pseudonym Antonio Madrugada. Writing stories and poems since 13. I have a passion for writing new and beautiful stories and tales, full of lore and rich in traditions. I love to write and maybe inspire others for the generations to come. Using childhood trauma as inspiration and catalyst for my unlimited energy and inspiration. I know one thing or two of music (sometimes I play piano. I had music education since I was very young.) I was born in Caldas da Rainha on September 21st, 1990. I graduated in Tourism from the Professional Course of TIAT (Technician of Animation and Tourist Information) at the IEFP Centro de Formação de Santarém. I am is currently thirty-five years old and I've been working and living in Sofia, Bulgaria since April 2017. Recently, I created the foundations of a future initiative called United Writers in Sofia, with the main purpose of assisting writers and those who aspire to become writers. My intention is to expand this idea by establishing an NGO under the name United Writer Global, whose main goal will be to create cultural events related to writing and to develop new projects such as plays, anthologies, and screenplays. I also plan to create NATCOW (New Authors to Change Our World), an extension of United Writers that will organize book presentation events in natural settings such as parks and forests. In one of my writings, I stated: "All writers and other artists who create amazing things are welcome to share their knowledge and participate in workshops. This is a place for sharing great ideas and creating greater things that will assist and benefit us all. Knowledge brings knowledge and skills. Feel free to join us and enjoy the times we spend together for a good cause. Your suggestions are highly appreciated. Our desire is to create a network and foundation to support writers." I warmly extend this invitation to everyone. I write under the pseudonym António Madrugada, a persona I created as my writing identity. The name is inspired by the people I love. My passion lies in writing poems and short stories. I volunteered between November 2013 and July 2014, and I enjoy traveling and backpacking. I spent nine months in Romania as a European volunteer, and some of my poems were inspired by the experiences I had during that period. I have been writing since the age of thirteen. My poetry is characterized by its complex and multifaceted nature, encompassing themes such as rebellion, heroism, history, nostalgia, and patriotism. In my leisure time, I continue to write poems and explore new creative ideas. I am the author of the book "Life is, by itself, a paradox", as well as its English translation, "Life is a paradox itself." My poetry collection "Poemas movem montanhas" has also been published on Amazon in English under the title "Poems Can Move Mountains." In addition to writing, I compose music and play the electronic bass in my spare time. On April 28, 2020, I created my first Symphonic Metal project, Wildlink, and released two demos on Spotify. During my childhood, I was strongly influenced by my father's musical education. He taught me to play the piano and later introduced me to the trumpet and trombone, helping shape my appreciation for music and artistic expression. My socio-economic circumstances motivated me to change my life and seek a better future. Today, I am grateful and content in the country that welcomed me and allowed me to build a new chapter of my life. I draw inspiration from my favorite authors as well as from the ordinary and extraordinary events that occur every day. I see life as a living painting, with new brushstrokes and tones appearing constantly. I believe that perspective changes angles every second, and that the picture of life will forever remain incomplete. As I often say: "The perspective changes angles every second, and the picture of life will forever remain incomplete."
