Who We Are
SlateHub is operated by Seceda GmbH, based in Germany. We are the data controller for the personal data we collect through SlateHub.

What We Collect
We collect information you give us directly:
- Account info — your name, email address, username, and password (stored encrypted)
- Profile info — whatever you choose to add: bio, skills, experience, location, photo
- Content — productions, organizations, scripts, photos, and other things you create on SlateHub
- Messages — communications you send through the platform
We also collect some technical information automatically:
- Basic usage data — which pages you visit, so we can improve the platform
- Session data — to keep you logged in and secure
We do not collect data from third parties or buy data about you.
Why We Collect It
We use your data to:
- Run your account and show your profile
- Let you create and manage productions and organizations
- Connect you with other people in the industry
- Send you important updates about your account (like password resets or invitation notifications)
- Keep the platform secure
- Improve SlateHub based on how people use it
Our legal basis for processing your data (under GDPR) is:
- Contract — we need your data to provide the service you signed up for
- Legitimate interest — for security, fraud prevention, and platform improvement
- Consent — for optional features like marketing emails (you can opt out any time)
Who Sees Your Data
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers.
Your data may be seen by:
- Other users — only the information you choose to make public on your profile
- Our hosting providers — who store the data securely on our behalf (under strict agreements)
- Law enforcement — only if legally required
Where We Store Your Data
Your data is stored on servers within the European Union. We use industry-standard security measures including:
- Encrypted passwords (we never store them in plain text)
- SSL/TLS encryption for all data in transit
- Access controls so only authorized systems can reach your data
How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep your data for as long as you have an account. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days. Some anonymized data (like aggregate usage statistics) may be kept longer because it cannot be linked back to you.
